Have you tried restarting your computer and reinstalling the CoolingTech Microscope program? Sometimes, restarting the computer can help fix issues with software not functioning correctly. Additionally, make sure you have followed the installation instructions properly and that your computer meets the system requirements for the program.
I've just installed the driver for the microscope and all I get is a window that says "Please connect device". The problem is that it is connected. I even unconnected it and reconnected it again, but nothing changes.

It's very likely that the driver hasn't been installed properly or that you don't have the right one for your version of Windows. Try uninstalling the driver, restarting your PC, then reinstalling it (making sure that it's the right one for your Windows) and rebooting again.
Additionally, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the application as some freak accident may have caused it to not install or register properly.
Lastly, try using a different USB port, preferably one that you've tested with a different device and that you know for sure is working.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to download version 3.0 for this driver/software. The version that you have is actually the latest one and various users recommend installing it from the CD that arrived with your device.
If you encountered a strange behavior, then the settings might be messed up, therefore a reinstall or additional configuration is needed.
I got this microscope from an online bidding website. It didn't come with a cd or anything. Nothing pops up when I plug it in. What can I do to determine exactly what it is?

The error message suggests that there is an unhandled exception occurring in the "CoolingTech Microscope" application for Windows, which prevents the microscope measurement from being initiated. This indicates a software issue.
